The Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR) offers field placements for Preventive Medicine (general preventive medicine/public health, occupational medicine and aerospace medicine) and Primary Care residents—with demonstrated interest in public health, prevention, or health policy—within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at either the:
- Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
- Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP)
Financial Support
There are two and three month rotations for to AHRQ and ODPHP residents available from: July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011, contingent upon funding. A stipend of $3000 a month wll be paid to the resident, as well as a travel allowance of up to $250 per month to help defray costs of traveling to the Washington Metro area. An Additional administrative allowance of $750 per month will be made available for the residency program.
